Mentally Challenging Games

This is a new challenging game of strategy for adults and children.

Blank was a huge success at the Cambridge Mind Sports Olympics (MSO).  The MSO tournament favours challenging board games involving strategy, lateral thinking and a quick response.

Players attending the MSO range from bright, to clever.  All levels enjoyed playing Blank Regular tournaments include games such as chess, Backgammon, Go, Scrabble, Settlers and Diplomacy. They also love Blank.

We ran an informal tournament where players competed to win a copy of the game.

Blank is a strategy game typical of German games where the lead can change hands many times before the end.  Nobody is excluded before this point.

There is little or no element of chance in the play, it's all about skill.  Most British games have a bad reputation abroad because they are based purely on the chance throw of a dice or they eliminate players early on. Blank includes everyone right up to the end of the final round.

The strap line for Blank is 'the game of long words'.  In most word games you can only play words of up to  seven (perhaps eight) letters long.  Approximately half the words in the English language are longer than this so we wanted to be able to play those words in our game.  In Blank you can play words of any length stretching to all the limits of the dictionary, bringing a wider vocabulary into play.  Even scientific words count.  The longer the word, the more points scored.  English is a beautiful language with many interesting words that may not be in common use on a day to day basis.  Let's use them!
